Mimi Le
Mimi Le is the Principal Investigator for the Texas Center. She is a Research Specialist at the Texas Birth Defects Epidemiology and Surveillance Branch. Her public health experience has ranged from evaluator, research coordinator, research specialist, and epidemiologist. In addition to being a NBDPS investigator, Mimi oversees all administrative activities and projects for the Texas Center.
What are your research interests?
I am interested in sociodemographic disparities of birth defects, birth defect outcomes, and folic-acid preventable birth defects.
What are your hopes for the study?
It is my hope that the study can help inform public health practice and help families and individuals with birth defects.
How long have you worked in this field? On the NBDPS?
Approximately 5 years.
What is most rewarding about working for the NBDPS?
Facilitating new research and collaborating with investigators throughout the U.S.
What are your major interests outside of work?
I enjoy cooking, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.
